RW 1 Kelurahan Purwantoro, Blimbing berhasil meraih juara pertama Anugerah Hijau Kotaku Hijau 2008.
Sejak tahun 2005 Sampoerna-Pemkot Malang-Radar Malang ,bahu membahu melaksanakan
Program Malang Ijo Royo-royo, yang berarti tahun ini menginjak tahun ke 4.
Berawal dari keinginan bersama untuk lebih menghijaukan Indonesia, khususnya di beberapa kota. Sampoerna melalui Sampoerna hijau dan JPNN (jawa Pos news network) saling bekerjasama untuk mensukseskan Program Kotaku Hijau.

arus pembangunan. Arus yang mengutamakan betonisasi dan pengurangan lahan hijau tersbut,
membuat, khususnya kota Malang tak sedingin dulu lagi.
Setelah 4 tahun, mulai nampak dari semangat perubahan hijau tersebut.
Semoga terpilihnya kota malang menjadi juara 1 Anugerah hijau Kotaku Hijau,
bsa mengetuk Pemerintah Malang yang saat ini masih getol mengurangi kawasan terbuka hijaunya, akibat desakan pembangunan dan kebijakan walikota terdahulu yang sekarang terpilih kembali pada pilwali 23 Juli kemarin.
Selamat, tanpa partisipati aktif warga kota Malang, Program Kami tidak akan berarti apa-apa.
